Charmaine Rusin’s ministry is rooted in the clear call of Romans 12:1-2 for followers of Christ to live differently than the culture dictates. This call to counter the culture requires consistent intention and attention in all that we do. As iron sharpens iron, we hope that this ministry will be a resource where God’s beloved children can gain the strength and tools necessary to resist the patterns of this world, and instead, become transformed by the renewing of our minds. Charmaine has a passion to help people find freedom from all types of bondage, whether it be comfort and conformity, addiction, fear, or another form of debilitating harassment from the enemy of our souls.

One of the most dangerous lies that Christians can fall into believing is that we (in the US) live in a Christian nation. The politics and culture of the U.S. have long departed from their original Biblical foundations, and daily move further and further from any former resemblance or intention of Godliness. Our everyday environment not only accepts demoralized behavior, but actually diligently works to advance the glorification of sin and depravity.

As the culture becomes more extreme in embracing sin, we must get comfortable with the fact that being Christ-like will also be considered extreme. The family unit is God’s designated building block for society, and His enemy is determined to crush those blocks in order to cause the entire thing to collapse. The harder the winds of change blow, the stronger roots are required to stand firm. Staying strong requires a supernatural, out-of-the-ordinary dedication to Jesus and to one another. Staying strong also requires partnerships, community, and perseverance. This ministry hopes to provide some of those tools to help your family STAY STRONG!

About Me
I play many roles here on earth – wife, mother of 3 boys, homeschool mom, daughter, ministry leader, recovery sponsor, sister, friend – but my identity comes from the amazing and relentless love of my Savior, my God.
Born on the date of Martin Luther King’s birth, God planted a dream in my heart at a very early age. I would see the stage at church and think how I wanted to be on it. To speak of freedom, grace, and love. But I was crushed by low self worth and seemed bent on self-destruction. No way was I going to end up on that stage. More likely, I’d never even make it to 30.
So I thought – but God had other plans.
After more than 30 years of stress, dysfunction, and extremely poor choices, I finally chose to give up control of my life and place it in God’s hands. Our gentle, patient Lord took my hand and led me down paths that I only dreamed I might go. He has restored me in body, mind, and spirit, and freed me from the bondage of shame. As I chose obedience and surrender, He gave me the gift of truly living fully alive – and He will do the same for you! Thank God, He is not finished with us yet!
In October 2021, I accepted an appointment as lead pastor of Living Faith Community Church in the breathtaking Catskill Mountains, and we took a huge leap of faith moving the whole family to New York (a state I NEVER imagined I would live in!). Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
